STRENGTH TRAINING
The Learn to Lift group program created by Coach Kat at Optimum Performance Training for LYNX focuses on strengthening neglected areas as well as strengthening the range of motion of commonly used areas. This is achieved by learning the basic mechanical movement patterns, such as squatting, hinging, pressing, and pulling.
Program includes 2 sessions each week
- Session 1 is a group session held at the gym where you’ll move under load. All exercises will be explained in detail and supervised.
- Session 2 is completed on your own at home, using your body weight to improve stability and support of your joints and ligaments.
Fall 2025
- Sundays 8:00 – 9:15am (2 spots left) or 9:15 – 10:30am (2 spots left)
- Term: Sept 21 – Dec 14, 2025 (no gym sessions on Oct 26, Nov 16, Nov 23)
- Location: Optimum Performance Training: 211 36 Ave NE #108, Calgary
- Gear: Stable training shoes (flat bottom or minimal arch)
